Default K20A???

Hey you guys, well I have been thinking about buying a honda accord so I have been reading about the H22 swap, which I had already knew about it......... (1990- 1993).......Well I know that anw swap can be done with alot of money but I wanted to know if a K20A has ever been swapped in a accord and what was needed for the swap, or if it is too much custom fabricating and just do the H22.........I have tried to search for the swap but I had no type of answers.........all are appreciated..........I think the K20s will be a good swap in them and they are alittle bit more rare so..............................

F22b1 Specs:
F22B1 16V 2156cc DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 145hp@5500rpm 147tq@4500rpm '94-'95 Accord EX (USA)

H22 Specs:
H22… 16V 2157cc DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 200hp@6800rpm 161tq@5500rpm '92-'96 Prelude VTEC (USA)

K20a Specs:
K20A 16V 1998cc DOHC I-VTEC PGM-FI 220hp@8000rpm 206tq@7000rpm '02 Civic Type-R (JDM)

As you can determine by comparison of the specs between the two F22/H22/K20a,
You're going to find you're going to have to massage the Transmission gearing even more so than the H22 Swap. As you go from the F22 to the H22 to the K20, you have to allow each engine to spin faster than the one listed previously to generate power. The K20 might actually make less usable power at Accord traditional RPM Levels than either the H or most certainly the F.
We saw this time and again with Chevy small blocks. 500hp at 5500 but absolutely undrivable at lower speeds.

Or you can do k24/k20 frankenstein. But i dunno you have to ask yourself if its worth it to spend it on a 6000 dollarish motor. Plus i dunno if anyone has finished making mounts for the cb chassis for the k series. I know they have them out for the 5gens but not sure bout the 4gens.

So you are pretty much saying that the H22 will be a better swap because of the less work needed for it and the tranny??????I don't understand what you meant by the power usage thing either; did you mean like i wont have that much power at certain RPMs with the motor in the Accord that wont be used???

None that I'm aware of. You might look in on-line magazine achives for info, but it's not a swap I've seen. It may be limited to the Civic/Integra Trans bolt pattern and the subsiquent axle length issue may play into it.
I'm pretty sure it isn't the same K series we're seeing in the 7th Gen Accord.

The general rule of thumb is that there is only a finite amount of power that can be had from an engine of a certain displacement. It can be specific built to develope massive amounts to torque at low speeds (at the sacrifice of Horsepower at the top end) or conversely can be specific built to develope all manner of Horsepower at higher rpms (at the sacrifice of Torque on the bottom end).
The best way to understand what I'm saying in to overlay the power curve maps of the three powerplants and compare where they make best torque and Horsepower
