Depends on your situation. This for a job or just home. For home just get something cheap, for work, a little better. My toolbox at work was only 600 (the ss one from costco) and have a cheap 100 buck craftsman at home. Yea, the tool trucks brand tool boxes are nicer, but saving thousands of dollars will allow you to fill the box with thousands of dollars worth of tools. More money is always better, think it through and don't do any impulse buys.

i see everyone go crazy about toolboxs and tools i think craftsman works great and they have a forever waranty you go to sears give them the broke tool and they give you a new one on the spot. snap ons good for specialty tools and stuff but i would never pay 6,000 to 10,000 maybe more on a box you wont have any $$$ left to fill the box

craftsman's regular line is not warrented for profesionals, and I doubt they would hold up to the abuse. I haven't checked out the proffesional line of boxes yet.

Mac MB4220 bottom box, decent 7 drawer unit.

Mac service cart for walking around the shop.

for tools. the stuff that needs tight tolerances, such as wrenches I use mac. Little **** here and there, I use regular or harbor freight. I hate how the **** stuff sits in your hand man. it doesnt even feel right some times ya know?

in my shop i have a craftsman's roll-around box with a top box to match filled with mainly specialty tools, no actual sets. next to that i have a kennedy roll-around box filled with smaller sets of tools.
in my one garage i have another kennedy box with 2 sets of mac wrenches(both us), many differant sets of us sockets(mostly snap-on, some mac). then next to that my bro's kennedy roll-around w/ top box.
then at my other garage i have another kennedy box with top box. then a companion service cart, and my dad has a craftsman box with matching middle + top box, that i use. was a complete sk us and metric tool set, lost a few pieces tho.

i like the kennedy boxes, but craftsman boxes aren't bad either. the companion cart was a good deal, and not bad for the price. craftsman socket wrenches are ****, otherwise most of their tools are good.
i need to pickup a complete matching set of us and metric for my shop still.

Rocking a kennedy 7-drawer roll box right now. Left over from my days as a machinist - everyone had brown kennedys lol.

Most of the tools are craftsman.

Worked at a shop for 8 months and got spoiled using their snap-on stuff. Snap-on sockets and socket driver, and wrenches, just FEEL better than my craftsman stuff.

I was about to buy a Snap-on box but then I quit the shop. I need to hit up my local snap-on guy and buy a box off him - they will still sell to you from the truck if you're not working at a shop, right?

each snap-on truck is an independant buisness, almost all of them are pretty cool, and willing to sell to you as long as you aren't wasting their time buying a single socket. remember snap-on boxes are expensive as ****. i feel you on the whole snap-on tools even feeling better tho, i would like to finish my snap-on collection even if i can't for a few years.

I use Snap-On because if you keep it in good condition, you can get almost all your money back on a trade in or sale.

agreed. thats when I decided to get a snapon box. when I found out that you can trade in a box for almost exactly what you paid for it when you're ready to get a bigger box...

if any of you are in the market for a Snap-On starter set w/ box, hit up the local community colleges auto-tech programs. Students get 55% off a starter set worth about $11k, and the dropouts will sell them for $2-3k.

I have craftsman ball bearing bottom and top side by side boxs. I love them, never had a problem at all with them and would have no other.

On a side note, my craftsman boxs are filled with snap-on and mac tools.

i have the smallest of the craftsman ball bearings. its MUCH nicer than the nonBB. Plus the nonBB only have like 1 year warranty and this one is lifetime.
