Default Does this look right? Mainshaft D trans

your looking at the mainshaft of a d series hydro trans.
does the hub gover over the part underneath the bearing?

that is your synchro. if you want that gear to be engaged then yes. but it doesnt have to be. it will move over it once u select that gear.

the sleeve will only go one way, once its below that then it twists then it doesnt align back up with the top collar

There is a misalignment there. The synchro sleeve should not go past the synchro hub when it is fully engaged. Make sure all of the gears are fully set onto the shaft, and there is nothing holding them apart.

thanks i'll be pulling it apart again ... pain in the *** to get them out

i'll prolly do a write up soon, I figured it out just had to take out the shafts and re-align them

that hub sleeve should never fall that low. looks like the center section is not pressed down all the way.
