Default possibilities to lift a 92 honda civic?? Help!!

Hey everyone, I need some help. I just bought a 92 Honda Civic (2dr hatchback) and it has a body kit on it. The person who owned it before me put lowering springs on it and it is way too low. You can not go over bumps in the road and if I were to come upon a medium sized rock in the road it would probably rip the whole bumper off. I don't know to much about suspension and I am wondering is there an alternative to buying stock springs from Honda to lift it up? It probably needs lifted about 2". I am on a budget and would like to get it fixed for a fairly cheep price maybe somewhere around $500 or less. Any suggestions would be kool. Thanx
Brandi

Buy bigger springs? Hit up the junkyard or something.

There is tons of after market lowering springs in the market. But i would suggest to save up a little and buy some nice ones.

Im looking for either stock or inbetween what I have now and stock. I dont need a hole lot of lift just about 2 inches so I dont rip off my front bumper when Im driving.

i would put the body back to stock and get some coilovers and set the height where you want.

Chances are the stock shocks are blown if the last owner just put lowering springs on

i would post in the Want to Buy (WTB) section of *********** that you need the stock springs for a 92 hatch. That are lots of people that have lowered their cars and still have stock springs lying around. I think that would be the best way to go.

You might want to check to make sure that coilovers aren't already on there. Jack up the car a little bit and see if there are screw threads around the shock body with 2 locking metal disc things. If coilovers are on there, you can just raise it.

If you don't already unkowingly have coilovers, I'd recommend H&R sport springs on Tokico blues for a nice ride and an aggressive stance without having to worry about hitting bumps or spending an assload of cash.
