geting to the fuel pump
The 5th Gens' require the removal of the tank to gain acess to the fuel pump (Tank Mounted)
On the 6th Gens', Honda got smart and incorporated an access panel in the trunk floor to gain access to the pump. Lucky them

to get to the fuel pump on a 5th gen accord, you have to drop the tank. you can get the the fuel sending unit but not the pump through the back seat or trunk..
This is why I have never let my 5th gen (or 6th gen) below 1/4 tank. It's a PITA to replace that fuel pump. If your tank is full you might want to siphon the gas out before you drop the tank to make it easier to handle. Also use a rubber mallot and brass punch to prevent sparks when you remove the retainer rings. of you use steel parts, there is is a very good chance you will go up in flames.....I've seen it happen
On the 1998 and newer cars you go through the trunk via the access cover.

And make sure you have disconnected everything. Fill tube, wire harness (for pump and sending unit), and fuel lines. Before dropping the tank. You may want to rinse out the inside, then make sure it is completely empty before putting it back up. Lighter, is better.
What is the path of the fuel pump power wire from the engine bay? I want to make a kill switch for the fuel pump. Since my kill switch will be wireless (remote control), I want to put the relay as deep as possible and in a place not easily accessible.
