Radiator Fan - Not Working
Any help is welcome!
The radiator fan hasn't worked for awhile. Hooked up two wires direct to the fan, and works fine. Fuse under dash is good but using DMM no current coming to the fuse.
Without checking everything because it's freezing up here. Does anyone have an idea for a fix and is this common with Hondas?
Thanks

Exactly, back of the block, 2 prongs sticking out... thats your fan switch.
Replace it. $30 part, drop coolant, remove, replace, refill. drive.
Run your heater in the mean time, you'll still probably overheat if you aren't careful.

well you can do what he said, which is the right way to do it,
or just hot wire it to the fuse box and everytime you turn your car on it'll come on.
just a cheap suggestion

Make sure it's not a relay, that can also cause your problem, just open the fuse box and switch the AC fan relay with the coolant fan relay, if it starts to work then you know that's the problem. It could also be a coolant switch though.
The third option is to wire it thru a switch you flip manually from the cockpit. You just have to keep an eye on the coolant temp and remember to turn it on. Keep your cooling system in good shape though and it shouldn't overheat unless you're idling for a long period of time on a hot day. Running the fan all the time is okay but will kill the fan motor quickly and it's not needed most of the time especially when the car is in motion.

If you do this though you are just bandaiding the problem not actually fixing it. plus you gotta remember to cut the switch off when you turn of the car or you can kill your battery, just find the problem and fix it!

You don't have to worry about draining the battery with the car off if you use a switched 12v power source. It's just using a $2 manual switch instead of a $30 automatic temp switch. It may not be "proper" but it's no big deal and it's done all the time.
isnt the fan relay located nextto the right fender? right behind the headlight? Or there is another one inside the fuse box?
I have the same problem in my car, i changed radiator, thermostat,, fuses, thermostat switch and the relay behind the headlight. NO LUCK, i still cant get the fan to turn on.

Make sure you changed the correct relay. Their is an AC fan relay there, too.

It will cost you $10-$15 to put a toggle switch in for you radiator fan, if the temps go up flip the switch. I only need the fan when I'm sitting in summer traffic, so that route worked for me.
