Testdrove the new Civic...
I REALLY liked it! It feels as if there is more low end, and definately pulls in VTEC.
I got to take it out on a twisty road. The Salesman was, lemmings, a "younger" kid and allowed me to "drive" it...
All I can say is watch out ITR's.. I know that might sound obsurd, but this car might out-handle the R.
The rear was very predictable.. no "snap oversteer". I was surprised how well it took my inputs.. I tried to get it loose, but it fought me..
All in all,
WRX?? whats that... oh, that spot in my mirror!!!
ITR?? no, no passing today, the Si will stay out in front.
I reccomend all you go try it... you will be Amazed at this Honda creation,
It looks funny, but who cares when you are passing everyone on the track???

That's strange... I just read another post saying that the car was a slug in acceleration and it felt like it was going to tip going hard into turns. I haven't seen one in our local dealerships yet so I can't see for myself.

Are you being a little sarcastic? From everything that I've read it's pointed out that it's a heavy pig
hmm...but the MSRP of $19,250 doesn't tickle my fancy.

I saw the GRM Si run at the autox two weeks ago at the Q. The car sounded awesome, but suffered from massive amounts of body roll. GRM was running a Comptech header and exhaust, and Per said that it yielded 13hp to the wheels(The Stillen exhaust that was on the car for the SEMA show was for show purposes only). It was running the new BFG T/A's on some Volks. The seats in the car were simply awesome- Overall, I was impressed with the car.
Thats all I have to say about that-

Watch the best motoring jan 2002 type R video, you'll get the answer there. It has really good comparisons between all the R's. The CTR in the video was actually performing really good compare all the R's been produced except for the NSX (of course). As I remember the civic outbeats every R's on the track with tight corners, also suprisingly fastest 0-400M time (I think)....go rent the video @ your local JDM videostore
My local dealer doesn't even get the Si until late next week ... I called early yesterday to see if they had them in yet .....
Sucks being on the East Coast.

I cant beleive that the 160hp version of that car is fast.. and could outhandle the ITR? dont think so. I checked under the hood of a stock CTR and it didnt even have front struts
If it wasnt so pricey I would give it a more detail look, it does look good in black but the height of the roof and the short hood isnt good looking..

The new CTR has the same engine as a ITR, so 220hp?
The old CTR performed very well (from the readings i did), but i dunno about the new one. it looks very bulky.

Quote: no, it´s 200hp, I guess the same as in RSX-S in the states
You are correct sir...........If any of you guys read Sport Compact Car, they have a very nice article on the new CTR (Euro Spec).
