Its a pulley that is connected to the engine and turns the alternator !
I need help putting it back in ! lol... Which way should it go? or is there only one way? and where should the belt go on the pulley???
I need help ASAP...Im supposed to leave for CA tonight to go to HIN TOMORROW !!

HOLY **** lol, thats the crank pulley bolt, did it break off in the hole? Put the pulley back up into position and tight down the bolt. Im not sure which one the alternator goes on but if you put it on the wrong one the belt will be crooked.
You need to get another timing belt washer to go on it before you put the crank pulley back on or the belt will slip off the gear. It only goes on one way. their are two washers, on on the oil pump side of the belt and one the crank pulley side. the washer goes on with the curved edge on the belt side. it curves from belt side to pulley side.
OK I got this far. I put the pulley back on there...Without the bolt..
Now, How the expletive do I get the belt back on !!!??? I tryed putting it on halfway and turning the pulley hoping it would slip into place. No go. Then I tryed putting the belt into place with the pulley off and tryed putting the pulley back on but I cant stretch it far enough over !!!
I know that is not the correct spot for the belt...

you have to un loose the alternator belt tensioner bolt behind the block(top of alternator), so you can move the alternator forward and backwards

don't forget the key for the pulley. get a friend that knows what he is doing to help you out. putting a belt is as easy as 123.
I finally got that **** on...
I looked through my chiltons manual (POS) and I loosend the adjusting bolt for the alternator. That **** would not budge !
So I just put the belt on half way and turned the pulley til the belt fell into place.. BUT ! It wasnt on the right part of the pulley.
So I made use of a flat head and moved it over tot he right track.
I tightend the bolt for the pulley down as much as I could without spinng the cam gears. I held on to the belt while tourqing down the bolt... Its not 130 ft/lbs, but hopefuly it will make it the 200 mile trip that i am about to emark on.

baaaaaaaahhahahahaha, holy ****.
the ft/lbs should be at least double of what it was at before, hahaha....you should check your lugs nuts, you dont wanna loose a wheel on the way to HIN.
and check all the spots you used jb-weld
mechanics these days

How the hell do you get it to 130 !
I can do like 50 if I hold on to the belt to keep everything from spinning.
And I know just found this giant, thin, washer looking like thing after I put it all together... expletive ! EXTRA PARTS IS NOT GOOD !

First off, I am not a mechanic, nor do I want to be. I just simply want to fix my car without spending a grip of money !
Second, Don't be such a smart ***. This is what the tech section is for... QUESTIONS !

First problem. get rid of the Chiltons, and grap a helms. Second grap a torque wrench and your spare tire. Throw your spare tire on put the car in 5th gear, have someone hold the break, grab a 20' extension. Put the extension on the torque wrench and torqure the bolt to 135ft/lbs. Its 130ft/lbs but the extension takes some of it away. The spare tire allows you to still get access to the bolt while making sure the pulley cant move.
dude i just hope you got a new crank key, if not, good luck. and WTF are you doing letting all that debris from driving get all over your timing belt and tensioner??? put the cover on man. oh, and i hope you locktighted the bolt also.

Well I just drove to my work which is a 6 mile round trip. No problems.. yet. The pulley is still on there and not loose at all.
If it falls off again, well expletive it. K20 !
Next time ill take a car I am thinking of buying to a mechanic.
