Default Winter Autocross 3/5/06 - Miller Park - Milwaukee, WI

As a board member for Tri-State Sports Car Council we invite you and the really dedicated
(or for the really nuts-o) members of your club for a winter Autocross...!

What's that you say...? You have the mid-winter no place to race blues...? Are you staying in lower gears and carrying slightly higher revs around town... have you been tempted to do donuts in that un-plowed parking lot? Are you trying to convince yourself that a slide on the ice is the same as a four-wheel drift into a smooth exit from turn 4? We have just the answer!

How about a just-for-fun winter autocross? Not a season points event, just tons of fun and frolic for those of you who are brave enough to dance around cones in the wrong season. All clubs and cars are welcome.

Tri-State Sports Car Council resumes the long dormant "Die Hard". This is an autocross in the cold just to warm up your competitive spirit and shake off the winter blues.

This is an event for the true autocross Die Hard. It will be held regardless of the weather, in fact we are hoping for enough snow to make it a real challenge, and an even bigger hoot!

Simple and straight forward, all common classes, no studs or spikes, street or snow tires welcome, race tires for the truly nuts. Times will be recorded and scored by class, trophies will be just your bragging rights. None of the big SUVs that might decide to roll over and do snow angles, but pick-em ups and AWD vehicles are welcome, we'll even let your register you dog sled if it passes tech! All safety rules will apply including functional seat belts and Snell 95 helmets (some loaners will be available).

You can show your comittment and pre-register on-line using Pay-Pay at http://www.TSSCC.org <http://www.TSSCC.org> or simply download and print the event flyer to mail in to the registrar. Or you can hedge your bet and show up to register on-site.

Join us on March 5th, at Miller Park in cold and snowy Milwaukee. Registration is just $30 for members & non-members as well... be sure to bring your cameras and the proper cold weather gear! Oh yeah, our insurance company says you will have to save the Hot-Toddies until after the event!

Well, with a turn out of 80+ and some afternoon snow the "Die-Hard" event was a blast! I even caught a ride in the ***** kaa "Ice Racer", with a total of 5 drivers. As you can see it went from dry patches to wet, to snow, to ice, and back to dry (not always in that order). It was too cold to take a lot of pics but we got a couple. Cant wait for next year's....
