Steel Mix, anyone tried?
As of late whenever i go to trade in my C25 at Airgas my guys are always trying to get me to get this Steel Mix stuff saying that its better and such. Well i desided to pick one up (because they ran out of C25 in my size) and tried it. And i must say it sucks ***. They told me to check my chart like it was C25 and my welds are coming out looking like ***. No matter what pressure of gas i use. I started with 18, then went up to 22. Finally i started with 15 and went one by one up to 22 and still all the same. Any ideas?
Machine: Lincoln Weld Pak 3200 HD Mig
Wire: .023 solid steel
Material: Mild Steel: 16 gauge and 18 gauge
Settings: C-5 for 16 and B-3.5 for 18
Thanks.

No, thats the color that it leaves after i run a line. Before i welded those were sanded down completely. I never had this problem with C25.
I talked with another welder and he said steel mix was good. What am i doing wrong?

that sucks *** man.
I get great results from my multimix gas for mild steel.... Its like a c02/argon mix i believe? Id have to check the bottle. What % of each are you using? Maybe you got a funky batch.. lol
I use pure argon for all stainless welding.
