how to set instrument panel to 0?
I just recieved my GSR gauges in the mail and the mileage has 39000 when Im done with my car It will be almost new so I wanted to set the reading to 0 how to go about doing so without breaking?

it is against the law to reset the odometer, however, if you choose to do it, you will need to log in the actual miles that the chasis has and have it for record. to answer you question, you have to push the number forward one by one because they will not go backwards that easily as forward. dont push the actual numbers but push the little sprocket things on the side. hope that helps.
see here is the situation I bought gsr gauges from a junk yard its going in my civic logged and took pics of both but since my car will be in shows I dont want it saying 170,000 miles on it. Now how do you get the needle off the gauge? Im almost there but cant get that damn needle off.
If you take the neddle off you will have to buy a new spedo. Have a look behind the needle and you will see that there is a coil spring. If you somehow manage to get it off it will unravle and you will never get it back together. I had to do the same thing, all you do is take the speedo guage out of the cluster, and on the back where the number rings are, just pull them a little to the side and spin them to where you want them. I think it is legal as long as you don't put less milage than was on your cluster.

the only time i took the needle off was the time i had to replace my guage.
