so i got my transmission swapped out.... i hooked up the speedo cable... go to test drive the car and the speedo ain't workin...what could be the problems????

 

pull the cluster out and check if the cable is spinning. I've broken a few of them

 

Did you hook it up right? Double check your work.

 

probalbly just popped out of the tranny

is there any special way that the cable is supposed to be put into the tranny???

 

there is a clip that is suppose to go around it. Most people just jam the cable in though and dont put the clip on. if you get it in there deep enough you should be ok but I would put the clip on

 

which part of the cable does the clip go onto?

 

The very bottom. If you look at the Tranny where the cable plugs in you will see a nipple sticking up with a hole in it. On the outside of that nipple there is a groover for a C clip to clip onto it holding the cable in place once it is slid into the nipple plug. Sorry, best way I could think of describing.
