Default rca and power wires

when installing an amp, i read to keep the rca wires away from the power wire, well how far should they be away is what i'm wondering, because i want to run them both down the center, and they have about 3 inches of separation, is that good enough?
and another question, can i connect the front speakers to the amp by connecting wires from the amp to the front speaker wires from the factory harness, thanks

i'd run them on opposite sides under the plastic piece that seperates the carpet from the outside (where you might rest your feet when you open the door, know what im talking about?)

They're called door sills... Or sill plates....

Yes, you can. I do it all the time. Definitely easier to run two sets of wires from the amp to the front than running wires into the doors... (especially if you've got a Honda with Molex plug)

Buy a decent set of RCA cables and dont worry about it.

The same amount current the flows through the positive wire also flows through the frame of the car.

its probably best to run the wires down oposite sides, but you could do it down the center just keep them as far apart as possible. when i did my car a few years ago i ran them down the center because i didnt know about this but i do have about 3-4 inches between the 2 wires and havent had a problem.

if you're in a civic, you can run the RCAs straight down the center console, under the carpet, and under the rear seat with no problems and you wont see any wires. that will keep them seperate from your power wires as well.

I ran my power wire down the passenger side under the sill plate and the RCA's down the middle under the center console. Just get some RCA's that are double or triple shielded. Mine are double shielded and they work just fine.
