Default Motor Swap for DX Help

I would like a price range on the parts, as well as different model engines I could drop in a 91 DX Hatch. I also need info as to other modifications to the engine. In all, I have about $2000 to run with at this time. Any info is appreciated :D

Well. Me being in alaska everything was a bit more expensive.
b16a engine tranny and ecu 1250 +shipping
90-93 non-abs axles 60 from a junkyard
Ebay motor mounts 125 shipped
shift linkage. Modified for free
resistor box 35 shipped here on ht
full gasket set 80 on ebay
new plugs wires cap rotor water pump. 140 local auto parts store
Bigger fuel pump 100 shipped ebay or aabout 60 here on ht
new timing belt 31.99 local parts store
All the fluids about 20 at walmart
Might have forgotten a few things but thats about it.

or you can just buy a ls integra for about a 1000 and take the engine, tranny, axles, harness, ecu, big brakes, and the throttle cable. and sell the rest
Get the motor mounts for 125 on ebay and replace anything you want but would suggest a full gasket kit and timing belt etc........

depends on what your gonna do with it later on down the rd. if you wanna build and/or turbo it later on when you get more money go with a b18 or b20, if not go with a b16, you can get a D15b or a ZC for cheap and then buy a few bolt ons with the rest
but i had 2 grand i'd go b18

FIRST and Foremost, convert your DPFI to MPFI.

And no, you cannot simply get a "SI" harness or "LS" harness to plug into your chassis wiring.

Do research or get someone with knowledge to convert it over to MPFI. My shop has seen many kids attempt to do this, but end up hacking up their original DX harness ( which you modify and convert ).

Or they think that the Integra "LS" harness will just plug right in and start right up. WRONG!

Some plugs may "plug right up" but you will end up blowing circuits and fuses and you wont be able to get that swap running. The latest DX to B16a customer I had did this before he towed it to my shop to have me fix it. He ended up spending more in the end than if he would have just had me do it completely for him in the first place.

Pick whatever motor you want, just be prepared for the DPFI to MPFI conversion first. That is the most important no matter if you pick a D16a6, D16z6, B16, LS, etc.

The PIN OUTs are different between MPFI and DPFI.

fourthgenhatch.com has all of that info. its pretty easy, but if you get a DOHC you need to not only convert it to multi port but you'll have to wire up for CPS which two wires will go from your ECU to the engine bay so be prepared to do a little wiring,
