How can you tell when your auto tranny is busted?
So we were tuning my friend's automatic boosted tranny tonight. We had the boost at 7psi and everything seemed fine. Then we tried cranking the boost up. It got up around 10-11psi and seemed to run fine. We then pulled over and tried turning it down a little. As soon as we took it back out the car would not boost at all. In fact it wouldn't even built 0psi which it would do before when the charge pipe blew or something. All of his charge pipes are on tight, and the wastegate actuator seems to be fine and not holding it open prematurely or anything. The car just doesnt even seem to want to accelerate out of its own way. It wont even go past 4500 rpms. It seems like the tranny just isnt putting any load on the engine at all. Its really strange that it wont even build boost. As far as I can tell the engine itself is running perfect. No smoke at all, no funny sounds, idles perfect, no oil everywhere or anything. There is almost without a doubt in my mind that something is busted with the tranny...i just have no experience with any auto hondas so i dont know what exactly breaks on them. Any ideas?

It will not pass a certain speed. I dont think one of the gears are out because it would still be able to build boost. He doesn't neutral drop.

When it hit 11psi could it have sent the ecu into limp mode? Bad tranny or not, you'd think it would still be able to build boost. Dunno...

it wasn't in limp mode. I checked the codes. Thats what we thought at first. I'm actually starting to think that he could have possibly jumped a tooth on the timing belt.
