OK so i've searched my *** off on this one and i've still yet to find a definite answer.

Yesterday i replaced the bulbs on my stock 89 si gauge cluster and now the speedometer and odometer do not work. After a few minutes of driving the CEL comes on.

The answers that i have found are check the speedo cable at the tranny and inside the car. I've checked and the cable is still working. I checked the cable on the inside and it still spins when the car is moving.

I have disconnected and reconnected my cluster numerous times and nothing like this ever happend. in attempts to fix it i have disconnected and re-connected the cluster and still nothing.

Now the only conclusion that i can think of is to get another cluster. what do u guys think???

 

You might want to check where the speedo plugs into the gauge. They are kind of finiky, so take that gauge out and hook up your speedo to it by itself, you will see if the gizmos are working
