Default Planning to get an EF.

Hey I'm planning to sell my current car and get an EF cause I think EFs look sexy .

I really don't know what do to do with it then though. I want close to 200 bhp but I'm on an incredibly tight budget. So I kinda came up with a list of budget setups but then some people say this breaks that cracks so I don't know.

1. B20 + turbo
2. LS + turbo
3. VTEC D series + turbo
4. B16

People tell me B20's are thin walled and crack easy. I also heard that on a VTEC single cam 200 hp is kinda pushing it to the limit. Any ideas?

Yeah B20 engines have a weak unisleeve design..But they're good strong motors as long as you dont push them..But I vote for ls turbo..You can get +300whp out out that with t3/t04e with good fuel managment..But you say you only want 200whp so a Turbo d-series may be better for you..And to let you know there is a guy Pushing 300whp on a stock internal D16z6..It was tuned very well and its not blown yet..He posted in the FI forum a while back..It was tuned by the guy at evans-tuning.com

Indeed, they are sexy cars. Welcome to the board too.

I would suggest B16 for you. And turbo it if you want to.

D series turbo can hit 200whp no problem, even the stock D16A6 with good tuning/fuel management can hi 200whp. That's what I'm aiming for in my SOHC ZC.

ls vtec + turbo

but if you are on a budget the sohc turbo is always a fun thing to do...
i konw a couple of people that broke the 200whp on a good tune and use them for daily drivers and tehy run find...

200bhp will be no problem on a sohc d-series at all... just get it tuned also
