Default -13º + 7000 rpm = hole in engine block

soo.. my roomate decided it would be a great idea to start his car and immediatly take off driving like a maniac when it was -13º out, before his car got warmed up. as you can see in the pics, he now has a new crankcase ventilation hole or 2. the car is a '91 crx si which until explosion had 150k miles on the engine. you can see a pic of the whole car in my sig, the effamily link..

EDIT: more pics on page 2..

Unless he was pissed off at his girl friend.
Then it would be ok.

when I wanted to blow my d15 dpfi with a blown head gasket, I started it up full throttle in the cold when it hadn`t ran for a month and after 5 mins, the car just ran out of fuel. trust my that d15 had taken a lot of beating before, it had 300 k km on it, suffered many over heats and had about 200 km of drag racing in it from the past month. I was amazed at how strong it was, your friend was very unlucky

Thats just blown a little bit, even though it's trashed now, you should see how bad i blew one of my ole d15b2...lol big hole. Btw that does suck though, perfectly good d16a6, just looking at it makes me upset in the irrisponsibility of the owner/driver.

yeah thats a good point. i dont know how he revved it that high cold. ill have to ask him about that. maybe he bounced it off the rev limiter and that helped it along. who knows. i think we are going to drain the oil and drop the pan this weekend. so stay tuned fore more disgusting pics.
