hey guys, i was just wondering if anybody out there has swapped out the engine on a 2004 civic with a gsr or type r engine. i know all about the k20 swaps but i was just wondering

 

Doubt you'll pass smog. GSR motors were stopped in 2001... and only, legally, can you put a 2004+ motor in your car.


Of course, you could always do it crookedly...

Crookedly... like the 5000 other guys out there with obd1 jdm engines in their 6 gen civics....

Never understood posts like this coming from people who live in NY.

Just make sure the swap is legit. Stolen **** is bad Karma. Smog is for trucks.... and old domestics.

Trying to beat the stereotype that all NYers are corrupt in some way.

Not that I care, my car can blow black smoke all day long, since it's registerred in Florida.

 

Legality aside has anyone (ie- hasport) released mounts for the B series into 7th gen swap? I remember a thread about someone (legally) putting a B18 in a 01 Civic and I thought mounts were in the works. Dont remember though.

 

check with hasport. somehow I don't think it is feasible.

In the first few lines it talks about Hasport looking to make mounts but then scrapped the idea.
