Default taillight removal 90 hatch

Can someone tell me how many bolts are holding on the taillights on a 90 civic hatch? I see 4 bolts + 1 screw on each side. When I took all these off, the taillight would wiggle but now come loose. Am I missing some?

I really want to fix my gasket leak before it starts raining, again.

It's about 8 on each light. Little 8mm's I think. I'm not 100% sure it's been a while since I removed them. It's 6 or 8.

So I found 5 bolts plus one screw. I can't figure how to remove the top center nut without drilling thru the plastic covering it however... Anyone know another way to get the damn thing off?

i just pulled my taillights out about 5 minutes ago. pulled the 2 taillight covers and pulled back the plastic, removed 5 bolts and pulled them out. I have an 88 hatch i didn't have to remove any screws just the 5 bolts.

open ur hatch, pull the TWO LITTLE plastic pieces off from the ONE BIG plastic piece. you will see FIVE bolts on each light, unblot all of them and WALA ur tail lights are off.

When I pull off the two little plastic pieces from one on the sides, there are four bolts easily removed, but there is one trapped between the open spaces that is impossible to reach without tearing through the large piece of plastic. I think I may have to resort to drilling through it, but I would rather not. [IMG][/IMG]

I finally figured out how to gain better access-- I am posting this so that anyone else having a problem removing the tail light can be helped. Since there is not way to get at the top center nut with just removing the 2 access panels, I used a screwdriver to unclip the inner liner where it meets the hatch gasket. There are two clips on each side. Once these are undone, a small ratchet can be squeezed in to remove the nuts.

I am still amazed that anyone has been able to change their tail light gaskets without doing it this way.
