Default 17s or HXs with Azenis?

I am in a quandry. I have a 95cx and I am slowly buidling, might do an LSVTEC or Turbo D so 170-200whp is my goal for the near future.
I have a set of 17s, not the lightest in the world but not bad (ADR Sokudo) that I got for a song. However, my last hatch had 17s and they rode like **** and handling was not the best. I am thinking of trading them for HXs with a decent tire. I am wondering if anyone has any input on this. I know 15s seem to be optimal but with the 17 I can get a wider tire, the 14s will ride better and have better brake-away characteristics but the 17 will have better turn-in. Thoughts?

You answered your own question...

and this really should be in the wheel/tire forum.

i wouldnt go with the hx wheels. to small. i would go with a wider tire. you wouldnt get any traction with that much hp.

maybe a set of 16's

170-200whp isn't exactly 'tire smoking' kind of power. HX wheels are probably going to be fine. But if not then maybe get some SI wheels or something with Yokohama ES100s.

hes not asking about how they look, hes more worried about how they will perform.

that entire statement is just an opinion without any facts to support your answer.

I would go with something a little bigger than an HX wheel, probably some 15's. That way you can fit a slightly wider tire on there, but it won't be as heavy as 17's. IMO, anything over 17's is too big for most hondas in the performance department.

have you seen how wide hx wheels are? seriously i would get a wider tire. thats still a lot of hp you will definatly not have the best traction.
