people with civics can just swap in a DC2 center console, but what are some options for us CRX guys, it kills me wedging my cup like between the seat and center console

i just had to say that, sorry. You could go to walmart and get those cupholders that hang off the window. My dad uses one in his 82 Camaro and it works fine.

 

theres a thread somewhere showing how to modify a nissan sentra cup holder to work in a crx, thats what i did. it works, but cups hit my radio controls and sometimes get in the way of shifting...

 

yea those would be like a LAST resort, but im looking for something indash like under the radio. that looks clean and stockish

 

my friend replaced the din and put the DA one in with the cup holder. i really dont know how to do it so im in the same position as you. just yesterday a cup of soda spilled all over my ebrake and console.

the nissan cupholder does sit under the radio and does look stockish...

 

what nissans have it?

 

not sure of the year, i think 88 or 89 nissan sentra has them. the ugliest nissan you can picture lol. ill see if i can find the thread

That looks almost identical to stock. I just always do what you do and shove it between the passengers seat and center console.

 

94+ integra cupholder modded into the stock center console in place of the ashtray and cig lighter is clean.






i use it a lot.

I have a real hard time picturing drinks infront of my shifter. I can hit the side of the center console in fifth gear....

well, i have a modified welded acid beaver special shifter. doesnt even come close to touching... i dont think stock would either.

I don't know about you, but theres less than a couple inches inbetween 3rd and the center consol for my stock shifter and ****.

 

sorry to hear that. im glad i got the shifter then. its just a cut and rewelded stock shifter.

i never have to think about my hand touching anything near there. im sure i could if i reached my fingers. shrug.

(i actually want to bring the **** further back by cutting the shift linkage. damn my dad for giving me short arms.)

I like the looks of that. I am to guess it goes in "open spot" under the radio? Please get one and let me know how it works.

no pictures of this installed on a car worries me tho.

 

Well unfortunatly I am sure it replaces the radio so you would have to choose either music or the hondas engine noise as entertainment. I am still debating if I should get it since I only drive the car on weekends. I also drink from bottle so I never spill

 

I thought our cup holder were that space in between the seat and the ebrake handel ??? Im confused now

I'm going to move my shifter to the dash where the radio is, and put the radio where the vents are, and then make a cup holder out of the shifter area.

yeah, lol, sucks for me. I want to know if anyone else has this problem? I know in 5th, I can reach the side of the consol with half of my hand while the thumb holds the **** in the webbing of my hand. ~shrug~

 

01+ si style huh, my friend has an 02 si, IMO I dont like the pos of the shifter, nor do I think it would be worth the time fab'n it to work. But good luck with it

 

I bought one of the old-fashoned door-hanging cup holders, cut off the hangar, drilled a hole, and screwed it with the screw that holds the passengers-side of the console to the tunnel.

The result is a cup holder is on the outside of the console, near where the passengers seat slider adjuster is. The cup rests on the floor, clamped in by the cup holder arms.


Hard to explain, but for $2.99 it works very well...I'll post pics later.
