97 accord SE motor mount
My dealer said my vibration in the steering wheel and in the brake petal while at a stop light was just the nature of the beast.
Is there any truth to this?? He said it was in the make up of the steering shaft and the placement of the motor mounts and over time it will start to vibrate when at idle with your foor on the brake. If I give it just a little gas it will smoothe right up. It seems to get worse with the AC on. The dealer said maybe changing motor mounts will help. It has 100k would the motor mounts need replaced ?? Thanks in Advance

One of the unfortunate by-products of 4 cylinder engines is a propensity to vibrate. Considering they have only four power strokes per revolution (as opposed to 6 for a V6 etc) they are also the hardest to mount without having to go thru all manner of hoops to isolate them.
Honda has made great strides in mounting engineering with regards the vibration abatement over the years. If you'd like an example what things used to be like: sit in an 89 or earlier Accord with a bad rear Engine Mount. It will drive you right out of the car, and has actually been responsible for things falling off those cars.
Your dealer may be correct, it's all a matter of degree.
It could indeed be that you've a mount that's causing an issue. But of the three 5th Gen Accords, one '88 Accord I've only had to replace one (on the '88).
