if you push the cv boot around and there is no cutts then its definitely oil but taht looks like oil anyway... check around your oil pan and see what that looks like kinda hard to imagine oil moving all the way over to your cv joint but hey its possible it could be on the right side of your oil pan leaking?

just oil pan gasket... is probably what is leaking.. but thats just a guess is there a lot of oil right around that seal? dont fix what aint broken.. figure out if its leaking there or not.. mayb your oil filter just isnt tightened on properly i have actually had that happen before back when i use to pay somoene to do my but i do that myself now...

its a oil leak

be careful not to pinch the gasket when installing it, it will leak if pinched

make sure that there is no oil coming from above the pan gasket. if it's dry be sure all of the pan bolts/nuts are tight (they can come loose sometimes) before you go and pull it all appart to put a new gasket on.

other things to check: there is an oil sending unit above your oil filter, those are prone to leak and not too hard to replace. also be sure there is no oil coming out under your dist. and running down your tranny. (that can get everywhere if it's bad enough. last but not least, oil can leak from the timing cover area (cam and crank seal). good luck finding the prob. i hope it's only one of those.
