Default dude...what the heck is wrong this time.

94 del sol S (JDM d15b sohc vtec)

soo... i was driving today and something weird happened:

during normal driving. i shifted in into 2nd gear and was at 2k RPMS going to 3k and it lagged... felt like it didn't want to move. i punched the gas and it took a while to respond like an automatic. felt like it choked or i was in 4th gear when i was clearly in 2nd. this engine is bone stock. clutch/flywheel new. transmission has LIFE. engine from hmotorsonline. what could be the problem? o2 sensor? lol no check engine CEL either.

You made sure there was plenty of gas in it right, once this happend to me and it was just because it was low in fuel. Im not saying its something that stupid I just want to remind you that there are times that we forget the most simple things, if it wasnt that, make sure your tps is cool, that will cause hesitation.

na man... sometimes it happens in every gear. even when i'm in 4th it should gradually increase in speed. it's not the same lag you experience when you're in a lower gear. it jumps like when you tap on the gas in 1st gear.

did you changes your fuel filter? what gas are you putting in? maybe fuel pump might be going out, or main relay.

I've had this same problem before too. It would usually happen in 2nd as well at around the same RPM, and it would usually be after I let off the gas then pushed it again. There would be a lag, like it was choking.

I never really changed anything, but the problem doesn't seem to be there anymore.

Did it do it just this once or does it always do it?

yeah... it's pretty much the same ****. it randomly happens for some reason. i've changed my entire distributor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, relay... maybe it's my timing or i need a timing belt change.

it happens like once in a while. not all the time.

i got a 95 coupe, does the same exact ****, almost seems like its decelerating when your trying to punch it right. I changed the spark plugs and checked the fuel injectors, it didnt help for me but maybe it will help you, also check the timing.

weird man, i dunno maybe the ecu, or the fitv, if the fitv is uncleaned, or clogged could be affecting the idle.

I had similar symptoms when my ignition coil went bad. I'd accelerate until it sputtering. Randomly, it would just start right back in accelerating again.
