Can you give a brief explination of the how the Carbs work (I.e. compensate fuel from vac. to boost and back)? For some reason, I just can't get that concept. I'm to used duty cycle

I've been wondering ever since the Episode of Monster garage when they built the Turbo'd Bug "Sour Kraut". It just seems like it would be fun to do. But, w/o Crome or Uber to help me tune I'm clueless

yea the Carbs need a special touch.... between the Venturies, main adn idle jets... getting them in Sync.....its every hard FI is a lot better....
like Bisi said he prefered Carbs over FI because he got better atomization withthe Carbs VS. FI

i have a customer that has a carbed turbo'ed mustang....it doesnt make a lot of sense to me either......aparently it works though....he drives it to and from the shop, and put down 1178whp....it sort of seems like there is low end jets and high end jets......right there in the middle doesnt run the best. he also runs a ton of timing off boost to help it run better i guess? last time he was on the dyno he completely blew up the intercooler. the intercooler is inside the car. talk about scary! i almost craped myself
btw that toyota thing is cool......i love old school turbo cars

Thanx Mike we will try and see how we do with it this year!! im sure we had the 9's withteh Blow thru set up but our biggest problem is traction.. the 24x9.2x15's are enough slick.... we might try the 24.5x8.5's this year but we cant go bigger due to lack of room.....

i will try to get a easy break down of it from my Father once i head over to his place!
but i will say that side draft carbs need to have their fuel Bowls pressuized in order to do a turbo set up with them

It depends on whether the carburetor is before or after the turbo. In a blow through configuration (like this one), the fuel bowls are biased with the charge pipe pressure to compensate for "atmosphere". Aside from that, they operate just like any normally aspirated carburetor would. You can purchase a "Boost kit" for many aftermarket carburetors.
In terms of an FI setup, these kits have the same effect on the carburetor jets as a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator has on your injectors: It maintains the same pressure ratio between both ends of the jets [fuel injector].
