Hey guys. I have a 1999 Honda Civic Si with tokico illuminas and eibach pro kits and have noticed something strange. The front drivers side shock makes a weird noise. It makes the noise only when the shock extends, like if you go over a speedbumb, not when it compresses, but when it come back down. It makes a swooooshing air noise kind of like a blown shock BUT it only does it when I put the shock on setting 2. setting 1,3,4,and 5 make no noise. No other shocks make this noise on any setting either. Just the front driver one on setting 2. And i found out for daily driving i like to keep the front on 2 and the rear on 3 but this noise has been bothering me.

Is it normal?
Will it eventually go away? (Shocks are fairly new but i drove for like 200 miles with them all on setting one because I heard thats what you should do. They probably have a total of like 700 miles on them)
If its not normal, whats the problem and what should I do?

They seem to ride fine also.

i dunno, doesnt sound like an issue to me.

i wouldnt be setting it at 2 anyway in the front. kinda low.

 

what do you recomend for settings. I have tried 3 in the front and 4 in the back and it seemed good also just a little stiffer. I figured the lower it is the more comfortable the ride. Any advice? What would you recomend to run?

 

i usually run the front higher than the rears for comfort and bump them all up if i wanted to drive hard like in autox or track days.

 

One of my rear Illuminas on my CRX did that, only on "2". I liked it better on "3" anyway, so I just put it there.
