Default Need Help! New cams, car wont move?!?

I had Skunk 2 Stage 2 cams in my car, then i took em out to sell them. I just got done putting in my old CTR cams back in. Now when the car is started,it doesnt wanna rev.It wont even rev past 3k. I havent had time to adjust my valves because it got dark outside, could that be the problem???

Sounds like your timing belt is off a tooth or so on your cams. Put the crank to TDC and check your cam gears.

when i did timing, i double checked the gears and and the crank pulley. Everything was straight, I could double check it but do u think not adjusting the valves at all would make that problem, i didnt have time to adjust the valves.

Out of curiousity, why would you do half a job then start your car up and expect it to run properly?

I had a friend with the same problem. His valves weren't adjusted correctly. Good luck.

I'm not meaning to come across as a dick. I'm just trying to figure out your logic. If you had planned on checking everything in the morning (when you had enough light to do so), I just don't understand why you would start the car knowing you would be adjusting the valves and everything.

I hope that you didn't damage anything. Did you double check your torque specs while installing the cams? Are you using stock cam gears or aftermarket? If aftermarket, did the cam gears slip a few degrees?

Sounds like the timing is off so it could either be the crank/cam gears or your distributer .

AHH jeez, you answered your own question.....not adjusting the valves would cause lots of problems. So do that first, and that should fix everything. I dont understamd why you wouldnt adjust the valves.
