Club discounts for HPDE will be available, but in a different format. When you sign up for HPDE include your club name (Honda-Tech)and your member id (Honda-Tech screen name) on the entry. At the track, these will be counted. If we have 11 to 20 entries from your club, each entrant gets $20 cash back on the spot. Over twenty, each member gets $30 cash back.
One of the reasons we are going this way is to dovetail it into our new on-line registration system. There will be no tech lines if you pre-tech your car. No registration signin at the track. Just register on-line and grid your car when its your group. Could it be that easy?

Frankly, obviously, this is organization dependent.
I spoke to Brian when I was still considering doing the OTC ( http://www.opentrackchallenge.com ), and he said it would be fine.
If you're worried obout "the potential" for people killing themselves, then don't hold these events!

I am really not sure Ed, if it isn't allowed, you still have your seatbelt right? Get a rollbar Ed, its worth it

Most of the reason I'm resisting is because I have a bar (and the rest of a bolt-in cage) in my 87 CRX Si, but it hasn't run in years. Looks like it's time to build a race car, but then that brings up a whole new set of "issues".
Thanks Guys, honestly.

Quick question ... I've got 2 running motors to choose from, to put into that CRX (which currently sits motorless @ 273K).
A stock motor from my 85 CRX Si, and the D16A1 from my donor car (87 RS teg).
One will turn the car into an H1 class hybrid, and the other a stockish class H5 (?)
Comments? Suggestions?
I'll be looking the cars over this weekend and contemplating ...

You're running the challenge, Ed? I had no idea...
Suggestions are welcome, but I'd be way outclassed in H1 without a turbo (or two ... hehe).

Put the stock motor in it and go have fun...
That CRX in the pics has out-handled C4 vettes at Summit point, but guess what happened in between (on the straights)!
Will be there, but on a support standpoint hauling goods for ECHC H1 #1. Unless of course, they let me track the 4Runner...wonder if I should see if Andie offers P+.....I can't wait!

-jeff, who likes CMP- brake abuse and all
Straight from Charlotte, NC - I'll be there.
Just ordered an extra set of CT Panther+ for the fronts.
Jonesin' to get back on track!

I'll be there, but not sure yet whether it'll be as a spectator or HPDE'r. Here's my choices:
1. Drive ITR to CMP on Friday for HPDE & taking pictures, drive back to Richmond on Monday. Drive Land Rover to Uwharrie Nat'l Forest (NC) the next Friday for a Safari/Trail Ride/Camping weekend.
or
2. Drive Land Rover to CMP on Friday, spectate, take pictures, etc, drive to Outer Banks, NC after CMP, stay the week there, drive to Uwharrie Nat'l Forest the next Friday from OBX, return to Richmond on Monday.
Hmmm.
Of course that weekend that I'd be at Uwharrie is the same weekend, I think, as the Ferrari Challenge at VIR... doh! What to do?!
