Nothing wrong with a little bling in your life. I was really hoping for maybe a dyno plot or any insight on what and if any power gains.

To me, it doesn't appear to offer much of an advantage over a typical short intake. In fact, the filter looks to be somewhat smaller than those that are commonly included with other intakes. The shroud is a nice idea, but without some provision for directing cooler air into it and blocking hotter engine bay air from entering, it probably won't do all that much to lower intake temperatures.

as for intake air temperatures.... there's not much differance in between cold air intake Vs short ram when the car is in motion

This is true (depending upon how one defines "not much"), which would further decrease the advantage of this intake over the simpler exposed filter designs.

Someone is selling one of these with a custom K&N filter in the classifieds for something like $375 i think.

Pretty rare JDM Intake.

Performance benefit is likely small....just based on how diminuitive that filter is.

I guess a hybrid between a Gruppe M/Prototype Velocity stack (magic stick) would work "best" ....something that is of this style anyway....

I've seen simota products personally in Taiwan and the quality is no better than your typical chinese made intake.
