Default tires get rubbed by rear lip????

I have some after market rims on my car(which I can't remember the numbers right now I'll post them when I get off work) They have a 7 inch contact patch as opposed to my 5 inches with my stock rims. I also have the tokico HP shocks and springs
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKIC...38151466QQrdZ1)
When I put my bigger rims on the very outside edge of the tire gets rubbed by the lip of the wheel well. Is this because the springs or struts are to weak because I don't have this problem in the front. I do plan on getting a rear sway bar( would this help) or is there something else I'm missing. I love the bigger tires cause I can take any turn at any speed and the car handles like its on rails. Any help is great because I don't want to completely ruin the tires.

it's lowered 1.25 inches. no camber kit. I had it aligned with the smaller 13in rims, the bigger ones are 15's

I have to wonder if it's your offset. More specs on rims please

I'll have to get some pics up. Another reason I'd like to keep them is I like where the edges of the tires are compared to the body. I think it looks nice. I'll have to wait till I'm off work before I can get the specs on the rims because i bought them from a friend and I don't know what the offset is.

by the way the car is an 89 civic dx hatch.

I took off one rim and couldn't find anything that looked like the offset numbers all I found was PRIME 15x7 5 309 48 S. I tried to measure it but I think I came up with a 38 mil positive offset. (7 in rim - 4in) / 2 or (177mm - 101mm) / 2. The wheel sticks out maybe a half in from the edge off the wheel well.

Sounds like you have wrong size wheels, and your main problem is offset. A lot of negative camber would fix this, but then it would look like ****

You have any pics btw?
