hooking up amp & sub to factory, is it possible?

Default hooking up amp & sub to factory, is it possible?

i want to know if its possible, and if so wha twould i need to complete the job. i have an amp, and 2 subs enclosed. i know i'll need wiring but is it even capable of working

Yes you'll need a RCA Line Output Converter. Which can be found at your local audio store.

aka high low converter. you wire it to your rear speaker wires.

High to Low Level Converter. Takes a speaker level signal and converts it to rca signal. You can either trace it from the back of the headunit ( most commonly done or from the rear speakers on your car.

This will not provide the cleanest sound but gets the job done.

Although, as has been mentioned, SQ is not that good doing it that way, [either built into amp or off board "LOC"] for a sub it's no biggie.

The alternatives can be expensive, obviously the best thing to do is replace the HU with an aftermarket HU with a sub out, next would be to have a tech install a RCA pig tail, [rca outputs] on the oem HU, [he will connect them up the the preamp stage of the HU, and if you want to keep the oem HU but you want to amp everything then something like this is needed to get good sound... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod...id=94 94
