Default still burnin

Ok the scenario is that I had an h23a1 engine that I swapped out because it was going through oil like every week and would smoke, but had about 170,000 miles on it. I replaced it soon thereafter with a jdm h23a hopping to solve the problem. I ordered the engine which runs great, but without any external parts such as intake manifold, headers, etc. Is it possible that maybe I could be burnin oil because of the old externals maybe the intake manifold? Should I be burnin through oil still?

if you had really bad rings and seals in the old motor I suppose you could have oil in your exhaust/ cat.

So you might have to replace the cat before you get all the oil out. This is just a thought on the situation.

or the new h23 is burning oil too.

either way it sucks.

some h-series engines have a problem with the cylinders becoming out of round, esp. with high mileage...

Your JDM H23a is the vtec motor out of the accord wagon, right(Blue Top)? Must because, Japan had the Dohc F22B not a H23a.... And if you do have a JDM H23A, how you like ?

Its a jdm h23a as it says on the block, but it is not the h23a vtec engine that you are thinking about.
