different between tires size
-----------------
also this dont belong in here, but i really want to know.
i know people lose a lot gas mileage because of the air presure on the tires. (sry cant spell)
i have gsr fat fives , tires size ( 195/55/15 )
whats the correct tire presure on it ???
does different size of tires have different correct air presure ?
if im going to buy a set of rims..
going to be . 205/45/16
205/50/15
or
195/50/15
which one is the best traction, or save more gas, or whats the differents thanks !!
The recommended pressures for the GS-R are 35 psi front and 33 psi rear. We have a '94 GS-R too and those pressures work very well, for various tires. You can change them if you don't like the results you get, but the recommended pressures are normally the best place to start. They will give you good traction and good mileage.
As for the size of your tires, it's a good idea to get tires whose outer diameter matches that of the stock tires for your car. On a GS-R with 15" wheels, get the stock size 195/55-15 tires and they will work just fine. If you buy 16" wheels, get 205/45-16 tires (like you mentioned).
The type of tires you get will determine the traction and the treadlife and the price. There are a lot of very good tires on the market. Two of the most popular choices are the Kumho Ecsta SPT and the Yokohama AVS ES100. Both are available in 195/55-15 for about $60 per tire from the Tire Rack, and either one gives very good traction and lasts a reasonably long time. Either one is an excellent choice for the GS-R.
Both of these tires are "summer tires" and not recommended for use in winter conditions (snow and frigid cold). But since you're in the Bay Area, you probably never have to worry about snow and cold. So these summer tires should be fine for you. (They are excellent in the rain for your winter months, too!)

195/50-15 is 3.3 percent smaller in diameter than 195/55-15, so it will make your speedometer and odometer inaccurate by that percentage. There's no reason to do that. Even if you lower your car, it should be fine with 195/55-15 tires, so stick to 195/55-15.
