Ever seen a race car? Leather & A/C usually isn't an option.

 

Every time i get im mine ...It was just a comment...I wouldnt see why they would gut it out w/supposedly no miles on it though...Unless its just that; a race car w/no mods...

What a crock ......

It is a JDM R, he gutted it probably, and is selling all the foo-foo stuff from it, and then selling the base car to someone here.

If it was a "race base" it should already have the cage and harness in it.

Since the car could not be titled as a street car here, the only way it can "legally" be imported is for competition use only, which is what he is marketing it as.

If you check out the page that compares the race base and the ordinary type r you can see that it doesn't come equipped with a Helical LSD.

Isn't that something the racing model should come with or am I on crack?

 

Honda of Japan does sell race based cars.

The N1 CTR was on their site last year.......

looks legit to me, then again i dont know squat about "race base" it is indeed a stripped "R" but why would it come w/ a roll cage or racing steering wheel, maybe "race base" means no creature comforts cause they know racing teams need to add the roll cage of THEIR choice, depending on regulations,rules,etc....

maybe the wheel and all other "race" parts are to be selected by the teams, i have no clue,im talking out my ***.

 

Maybe race base is just like the bare minimum to make the car run. Are they cheaper than the stock cars since they don't have an interior and stuff?

Mfg's do sell cars that are not intended for street use, and so they are ready for a team to install their cages and chit in. No sponsored team would use a mfg's perf part when a good sponsor part is available! That'd be a good reason why Honda wouldn't put a cage, racing steering wheel etc in it. Just whatever it takes to make it drive off the truck I guess.

I'm not saying that's the deal for this car...but it *could* be.

 

Thats is more then likely a stolen or previously wrecked DC5.
If they don't have imports title transfer to prove who owned it before hand it's not legal. Be careful as the UK has had a many private sellers selling stolen popular Japanese models.

The race verison comes with FIA rollcage, no AC, no LSD as most races add there own, no ABS, has only one Recaro cf racing seat and 4 point takata racing harness and comes with momo racing steering wheel not OEM one with just the airbag yanked out. The racing verison comes without interior. The car can be special ordered for this yr for the Touring car series and other series going on.
Also if you get non AC without radio. The dash portion is got filler piece installed. I have the OEM master catolog and it shows non option ITR's this way.

 

the car kind of looks like mine, except i have full interior and mines a left hand drive, and i have a air bag, and mines a type S. damn come to think of it its kind of not.lol. well here is a pic of mine and u can decided for ursef. but i'll get there one day. good luck

 

I think the car is legit. It's the race base model honda sells for the Integra One Make Race. You just order one of these from honda, goto http://www.hoa.jp/ and order up all the parts including the cage.

 

I think it legit too. I can't believe honda is selling race base models now. It's about time! That's what BMW has been doing for years now with the M3's. The race base is basically a gutted version of the original.
