Isn't that about what a CBR 600RR costs? An 06 R6 is even more.

The white looks the best IMO.
Now that I look at Triumph's web page the price does seem pretty good, usually when I see slightly used Daytonas for sale they are fairly cheap, oh well. My bad.

Yup, White Speed Triple is
, looked at the dealership this weekend. Love the singe swing arm on this bike. I don't like white bikes cause the look to CHP but this one was sweet.....

Well, I wasn't going to say anything bad, but we're all adults here(I Hope). Props to Triumph's marketing department for making an entry level bike that looks the part, and so far, performs the part... However, the bike just looks cheap, not parts bin cheap but the bike does not look stout, or solid. I will be willing to bet that a year or two from now the horrors will be exposed.

do you say that because of how the bike looks? or does triumph have a bad history (re: kawi)?

A bit of both... while I am sure Triumph's have come along way in as far as quality of build, all I can see when I look at this bike is lack of quality. Like I had mentioned, entry level, and if they make it to the track you can bet that they will be extensively modified. Let me clarify, not the style of the bike, the bikes looks modern and nice, but the looks in as far as build.

I ride with a couple Triumph nuts. They are not Japan-spec built quality for sure. But the devoted following puts up with a higher service rate and random parts failures. misc electronics, fuel pressure regulator, sticky brake pistons to name the stuff I've seen...
I took a spin on a Sprint ST and I must say its a pretty nice bike, 3cyl engine note is cool and friendly power band, suspension was spot on and I was faster on it than the FJR by a mile.... But then I rode a 954RR and it was intoxicating, but ultimately painful after several hours.

Thats a good description, thanks. I have been on the daytona, and while I liked that Triumph, I would not have purchased one. thats just me though, I can see the market for these bikes. Good job Triumph

I saw it past saturday, I had to drive inland empire. Its actually not bad, very light, skinny *** hell, its like your sitting in a pencil. They satarted it, not as quiet as a honda, but has a note; barely touched the throttle i saw the **** needle 4000rpm barely blinked and saw 8000rpm, very responsive (I think this is expected on new bikes ofcourse), scared the shiet out of me; and I was just tapping my right hand. Quality wise? next to a CBR, the CBR needs to go on a diet and the jap looks cheap compaired to this. Um only comes in 3 colors, the yellow/red/graphite. The white you saw in a picture? someone preordered that for cops; dont know which state is getting that; but that looks awsome too. Black would be my choice. From the factory they tracked this bike against an '06 R6 and got beat by 0.007sec; this was stock (probly a sucky rider). Imagine if they put the arrow exhaust; manipulate one of the 3 codes for the CPU. So you see in the track it holds Yikes the yammis better be scared when bike comes out. Ohh they have 4 of them out this week for the state of CA. Im not a trumph person; im a japanese supporter; this bike is pulling me to the DarkSide.
for triumph for making a dressed up speed tripple in a 600.
