Do plugs for EGR system push through?

Do plugs for EGR plugs push through?
I have my F22a1 intake manifold off the car and am trying to clean the EGR ports. Do the plugs that i need to remove push through or do they need to be pulled out?
I'm having trouble pulling them out and was hoping they pushed through. If not do you have any suggestions on helping to pull them out?
ex.) heat them up or something
