Default Vtec solenoid

Is it true that if I put an h22 vtec solenoid in place of my f22 one, I will hear the crossover better?

so.... who did you hear this one from?

a vtec solenoid isn't like a bov... it doesnt get louder if you change it out. the sound comes from a bunch of things unrelated to your vtec solenoid. you can hear vtec on the dohc motor cause both cams change as well as ignition timing/fuel values.

Bolts up fine. I broke my H22 solenoid during my swap, and I had to use the closest thing handy. A VTEC solenoid from a 95 Accord. 3 years later and all is well.

I stand corrected... back on topic, changing a solenoid won't change the sound, it will do the same thing that the accord one would: engage/disengage vtec.

No sir, it is possibly me who is wrong. I was cleaning the enginre bay today and I realized I didnt use the whole assembly. I only used the oilpressure unit from the F22's VTEC solenoid. (dont know why I thought it was the whole assembly) So it is possible and even likekly that the Assemblies are not inter-changeable. Apologies to you Superorb

no problemo i'm almost positive that the top little cylinder thingy (solenoid only) can interchange between the years since mugen and the like all sell the same cover w/ the same p/n for all years and all models. i don't have one tho, i like it o naturall.(i never knew how to spell that phrase)

EDIT: here it is: au naturel
