Default question about mix-matching h22 and h23 header/cat/cat-back's

i searched and i think i might have found the answer but i want to ask just to be absolutely sure before i buy a part that might not fit.

i currently have an h22 with a Greddy header, stock h23 cat, and Thermal cat-back that i bought way before the h22 swap.

my question is, if i were to buy an aftermarket cat would an h22 one fit? or do i have to find an h23 one? and if an h22 one wouldnt fit, then why not? is it shorter, longer, different bolt pattern, etc?

thanks

from my experience, the vtec cat has a bigger 3 bolt flange (where it bolts up to the exhaust). since you already have an after-market exhaust, it should bolt up.

but my aftermarket exhaust is bolted to a h23 cat

i know for a fact that it will bolt up to the header (whether its an h23 or h22 cat), but im worried about the length of it and the flange that you said might be bigger

Buy the H22 cat, and you will have to drill out the flange holes exhaust side, just a wee bit bigger.....Piece O' Cake

You sent the money to me!!!

It will bolt up to your header and cat-back. If it worked on mine, it will work on yours.
