Quick question about axel removal.
Have a 90 2dr integra auto RS. I know auto sucks.
Axel came loose out of the tranny because the lower ball joint got seperated

I need the instructions on removing the axel and the LBJ in this situation.
I got the spindle nut removed.
Do I have to remove the rotor? I would hate to do that as the 2 little phillip screws are nasty to take out on these rotors. I know I could probably drill it out.
Is there any other work around.
To remove the rubber boot and the top part of the ball joint I guess need to put a socket under neath and hammer it up to get it loose. The other part of the ball joint how would that come loose? remove the cotter pin and then the castle nut then hammer it up to remove it? Is there going to be problem removing the castle nut on that? Is that going to keep turning while I turn the castle nut?
Any help is great.
Thank you.

wow. You've got some major problems there man.
If you've already got the axle nut off then you should be able to just push the axle out of the knuckle. You don't need to remove the rotor, but see as your balljoint snapped in half, I'm willing to bet your axle is going to be stuck/siezed in the knuckle. You can hit it out with a hammer from the outside, but be extremely careful not to damage the threads or end of the axle. Also, if you were driving when this happened, which I assume you were, you may need a new axle as one of your CV boots may have been dislodged or damaged.
As to the ball joint, you're going to need some way of pressing out the upper portion. A press would be ideal and to do it right you're really going to have to remove the knuckle from the car. You could hit it out with a hammer, but this will take a long time and you may damage something else. The lower part, I dont' think you're going to be able to get the nut off so you'll more than likely have to cut the nut side of the ball joint off and then knock the rest out from the bottom.
I have a feeling this may be way way over your head. (No offense) But the fact that this happened and you asked this implies to me that you dont' have much experience or mechanical incliment. Let me know if I can offer any more help or make what I said clearer. May be better off having someone else do it though.

Got the ball joint off the knuckle(sp) as well as the LCA area.
Used the puller to remove it came out easy after removing the axel out.
Axel came out easy as well few hammer hits on the end of it, no need to cover with anything as replacing the axel anyways.
Thats all I could do today as had work at 2:30pm.
Took me good hour to get that done.
Tommarow I need to remove the outer tie rod as well as go buy some transmission fluid and i be set to go.
Thx for the reply the help and the judgement which I did not like.
Anything can be done long as got the tools, time, resources, patients and a beer.
