D-series/SOHC ZC help
I'm at a loss...IDK what the deal is with my buddy's car, if it's not one thing, it's ten. Anyways, a few weeks ago we pulled the crusty old 'A6 out of his CRX and dropped in a fresh single cam ZC, which run good feels strong from at I can tell, the only problem is that we can't drive it. I wasnt there when they actually put the engine in the bay and bolted it up, his dad was helping and he has mechanical experience, so I figured they'd be alright, well, anyways we go to pull it out for a test drive yesterday, and the car won't go into gear. We're using the stock SI tranny with it, and it's acting like the shift linkage is disconnected or something, but it's not. I even had him rev it up in first and dump the clutch, and the car just slowly slid back down to idle. The clutch cable is connected and adjusted and moving the clutch lever on the tranny case all the way up, I'm just at a loss....
well if the linkage is deffinatly hooked up
and the cable is hooked up and functional
and if the trans is full of fluid
it is either , throw out bearing, clutch, pressure plate, or flywheel
if the transmission is deffinatly good
