sleeveing??
so im reading therw the prelude forums and im looking at turbo part b.c i want to turbo mine and boost at 10 lbs.. some one psted that the bottem end would need forged pistons.. no big deal.. then some one else said it neeeds to be sleeved.. some one please explain to me what that is or means?
i think preludes can handle 8-10psi on stock sleeves but not much more. You would need pistons but while you are it (have everything apart) you should get rods as well. Sleeving a block is basically machining out your old sleeves (technically your cylinder bore) until there is practically nothing left then they press in new sleeves that are much stronger that alow you to run 40+ psi without any worries. You can check out Darton website they explain it pretty well and have pics to help you understand.
Well if you are planning on turboing the f22 then I would not sleeve it. If you are only running 10 psi, I would just throw some forged rods and pistons in there and call it a day. The F series engines have iron sleeves so you can run forged internals without sleeving.
