steering column lock
Is the pin that lock the steering column electronically activiated or is it mechanical in a 95 accord? I want to know because i'm working on a personal project. I don't steal cars.
The Key interlock system on automatic 5th Gen's I believe it's electrically activated by the "Park" switch mounted to the side of the shifter mechanism in the console (#3 in the supplied illustration)

and controls a blocker solenoid in the ignition lock mechanism

Nothing within the Honda Parts catalog tells me any different. There are no cables running from either the auto or manual shifters to the steering colume.

It keeps the key from being turned off and removed if the gear selector is not in Park (for automatics) (so you don't inadvertantly lock the steering wheel while the cars still capable of moving (in gear)
As to the question of a Manual transmission car, I can not dicern how it's done, since there's a definite lack of control switches or unaccounted cables in the manual shifter assembly.
The colume locking mechanism is the same as domestic manufacturers, it's a mechanical side-function of the Ignition lock cylinder assembly.
