problem (clutch or tranny?)
i got problem on my 92 eg vx.. when i start the car ders a noise but i think its not the engine. when i step on the clutch all the way der is no noise. then when i take it out again der is.... should i change my whole clutch or some bearing?
I had this happen before, the consensus is that 90% of the time its the Input SHaft Bearing, but for me i changed out the whole clutch including the ISP and throw out bearing and the other little bearing but still had a sound. It is definitly a bearing though, make sure you check all the bearings when you take it apart.
throw out bearing...i have the same problem ,
- throw out bearing and release bearing are the same? and some one told me that it was the tranny.... he said i should change the whole tranny. now im curious if its the tranny or the clutch...

Ok there are different bearing nioses that happen and different times.
Throw out/release bearings usually make niose unders stress like when the clutch is being disengaged.
Input shaft bearings make noise when the clutch is engaged and the car is idling. But also I have heard some interal transmission bearings make noise under the same conditions.
Pilot bearing noise happens when the clutch is held to the floor only.

So it sounds like inputshaft bearing noise or interal transmission noise. Its probably not going to blow up tomarrow but if you feel the noise is bad enough then get in and replace the clutch and all the bearings such as input shaft and throw out bearings. Both of these are easy to replace when your changing out the clutch. Or if the clutch looks really good you could just replace the input shaft bearing. Depends on your budget and the uses of the car.
