Anyone Read, About my fuel pump problem
Ok so just now i finally got my car started, and its blowing out thick white smoke... could that have something to do with the fuel pump?
Some steam from a cold exhaust system is normal first thing on a cold morning. But if you're talking about volumous clouds of thick acrid white smoke that doesn't go away; then you're looking at an internal coolant leak. Coolant is getting into the combustion chamber (not good).
This indicates:
1) Blown Head Gasket (survivable if addressed quickly)
2) Cracked Head or cracked cylinder liner (requires a more agressive approach)
Watch your coolant level

If that has happened, go straight to rebuild instead of just repairing leak. When you get coolant in the oil, 99% of the time your main bearings get toasted or damaged and will fail within a short time.
