I just had the plastic top part of my radiator crack and start spewing coolant over the grille and exhaust manifold,my Honda mechanic is replacing it with an all-metal radiator that is warranted for life, and he says that a Honda radiator (Denso?) is not warranted for life.
Would I be better off with the all metal radiator?
Thanks
Depends on the quality of the radiator. They can spring leaks too. A lifetime warranty does not always mean a whole lot. If you have to keep paying for shipping, the charges can add up quickly. Not to mention the wait. Just some things to think about before jumping on the deal. How much does this lifetime radiator cost? A new denso would cost about $250-$300.

well, the job is costing me $285 total plus tax. This guy is a independent guy whose shop pretty much only works on Hondas, so I kinda feel okay with it. plus I'm not paying for all that shippping costs and stuff.
but let's assume that 2 radiators installed, one metal and the other plastic.
over a 10 year period, wouldn't the plastic one be more prone to flexing and warping from temperature fluctuations than the metal one?
(I say 10 years because I plan to keep my Accord more than 15 years)

plastic ones crack due to the many times they heat up and cool down. if he is putting in a good quality aluminum rad then I say go for it.
