for a 15" wheel, the size to go with is a 24.5x8.5x15
The 22x8x15 will just spin with 400hp. you can probably make it work, but its not the greatest size to use on that much hp. You'll over power them easily.
But you have to use an 8" wide rim with the 24.5s. When you run slicks, its really best to try to look for a rim that will fit the tire you are using.
If you can try going with a 13" rim so you have bigger selection on slick choices. The 24.5x8.5x13 is good for 300-650hp, so that size will last you for awhile.
Also keep in mind that the rule in rim to slick sizing is to keep the rim width about 1-1.5" to the size of the slick.
Its best to get it directly to the size like a 13x8 rim to a 22x8x13 slick.
If you run an 8" wide slick to a 6" wide rim, thats 2" off. What happens is you're not going to get the proper contact patch. With the slick that wide, the contact patch will go past the rim width and what happens is the only thing that is connecting to the ground on the slick are the edges. You're not going to get a full contact on the slick.

you can. it will work, but its best to keep rim width as close to slick width.
Just keep in mind contact patch changes depending on the rim you use. and can also change as you do different tire pressures.
