SOHC ZC ???

Default SOHC ZC compresion ???

hey there i was just wondering what would be a good reading when you test the compresion on the sohc zc mine was

1- 180psi
2- 180psi
3- 175psi
4-180psi

just want to check if this is normal or not thanks

Thats normal..If it was like 180,180,180,60 Then you have a problem..

No not a problem at all..My old motor was 190,185,190,185 and it ran perfect and healthy..

You tried replacing the cap,rotor and plugs already?

i have brand new wires, cap, rotor as well as a new obx intake manifold and a b16 tb and i don't have hi rpm power

the service manuels ussually say it can be within about 20 psi from specs

Um...that's incorrect.

Normal Nompression is 180psi
Minimal Compression is 135psi
Maximum Variance is 28psi

i said ABOUT 20 from spec

it says 28 varience

so i was off 8psi

this is true there can be up to 20 psi in difference between the cylinders, also have you advanced the timing or retarded it maybe that would work..

That sounds like as long as its within a 20 psi difference from spec, its okay.
So taking your answer literally, if spec is 180 and you get:
150, 155, 150, 150 on all four cylinders - its out of spec (since they are all more than 20 psi below spec)
200, 160, 160, 200 - its within spec (since each cylinder is within 20 psi of 180)
...both of which we know is not the case.

So even if we overlook the inaccurate variance quote, there's still the murky answer.
I don't doubt you knew what you were talking about...you just need to be more clear when you're answering peoples questions (or don't bother).
