Default Question on buying a bike

Alright guys I might be able to get an 02 cbr600 f4i from a friend for really cheap. The few concerns I have is that he did stunts on it. Nothing to crazy just stand ups and sit downs. Also the bike sat outside for awhile and i know it was snowed on. Do you guys think its worth it? THe price will probably be below 3000. Thanks for the help

for $3000 i'd most likely go for it considering nothing on the bike is too bad. does it have a clean title?

Does your friend maintain his bike? I'm assuming it sat outside uncovered, so maybe not.

Check for rust everywhere. Especially in the gas tank if the bike has been sitting for awhile. If it's been sitting for awhile, the gas in the tank will turn to varnish and really mess things up. You'll also want to clean out those fuel lines. Check all the lines and hoses to make sure nothing cracked from freezing. And if he did any type of wheelies, plus the bike's been sitting outside, you'll want to redo the fork seals.

I'd offer $1500. But that's just me.

If you could take it to dealership and have them inspect. It may cost you some $ but will be well worth it. My main concerns would be rust, hoses, chain since it was sitting outside. The other big concern are the fork seals due to stunting.

Does anyone know how much an inspection would cost?

At least an hour.

Assuming the shop charges $70 (average) per hour for labor, that's $70 for the inspection. At least.
