1994 Vtec - Odometer and Trip odometer issues.(digital cluster)
I have a 94 lude. JDM swap. Car runs fine and everything. After about a month or two? of owning the car the odemeter and trip started to act up. I did not notice much cause the main odometer looks the same intil it changes in the 1,000ths digits. The wierd part of the issue is the trip works correctly sometimes and sometimes never and sometimes seems to count a bit fast. I have 17" rims (which I hate) I know the larger diameter throws gearing a off a bit even with the best tire combo but could this cause trip odemeter problems? I Also have an ABS light on and the code is for the Front Left wheel speed sensor. Could this cause trip/odemeter issues? I am pretty sure the main odometer has been stuck for quite a while. I am looking for any suggestions. Thanks
This is a Digital Gauge cluster
The speedometer works perfectly. The Tachometer works fine as well.
cliff notes : trip odometer and main odometer acting up. Wondering possible reasons?
I am so stumped because it is sparatic.

hmmmm, ya, your **** is fucked up.....my odometer was rolled back, can you beat that?
but really, your rim size may be messing up, as for the abs being messed up, you should check that out at the dealership, or do what i do when mine comes on and add some more brake fluid to the abs resevoir, but thats just cause mine leaks haha

Well, the odometer and the tach get their signal from the VSS, so it's definately not anything related to ABS.
Check the connectors on the VSS, but you probably have some internal problem in the cluster...

I would check the vss. to fix the odometer.
the abs is a different problem. but you should still fix it by getting that wheel sensor.

Yep. Getting ready to tell you the same thing.
Just have to replace the front left wheel speed sensor. I haven't taken a look at ours, but I worked on a mercedes yesterday - and the son-of-a-bitch speed sensor is on the BRAKE PAD! Which was ******* crazy in my opnion. But it plugged in on the caliper. Should be easy to replace. Might have some kind of retaining screw holding it in - wherever it is though. Good luck.
